GOLFWEEK TOUR REGULAR SEASON FINALE AT BRYAN PARK

For the last two days the top players on the Golfweek Amateur Golf Tour competed in the 2014 Local Finals season finale at Bryan Park. On Saturday the competitors took on The Players Course, while Sunday brought the challenge of the Championship Course. Not only was the championship of this event at stake, but in a number of instances the season-long Points Standings race winners would be determined by the outcome of the tournament.
In the Championship Flight the tournament winner was Sanford's Craig Sturdivant. He won the event in a sudden death playoff with Kernersville's Park Williams by chipping in a birdie on their first extra hole. The duo had both posted a two-day total of 147 during regulation play. "I was just trying to get it close, because Park had a possible birdie putt", said Sturdivant. "It went in"!

The B Flight also had to go to extra holes after both Marcus Dudley of Raeford and Apex' Bob Sheahan registered 164s for their two-day total. A costly 3-putt on that first playoff hole by Sheahan gave the title to Dudley with a par.
Bryan Park Winner: B Flight - Marcus Dudley
Tim Manyatis of Raleigh had no playoff worries at all in the A Flight. He enjoyed the most comfortable margin of victory in the entire event, posting a 148 total and besting Durham's Daren Green by 5 shots. His 72 on Saturday gave Manyatis a solid cushion going into day 2.
Landon Wilkes of Apex scored an impressive double in the C Flight. Not only did he win the event with a 2-day total of 180, but he was also a runaway winner of the C Flight Points Standings race. Elvis Sheahan of Durham was second in the event with a 182.

Another Durham Tour member, Tony Eaves, took the top spot in the D Flight, overcoming a 4 stroke deficit from day 1. His 194 total bested Greensboro's Keith Thomas and Greg Green of New Hill by 3 shots.
