MACEJKO NOTCHES 2ND EGOLF TOUR WIN!

Sanford, NC (May 1, 2010) - Mark Macejko of Vass couldn't have had a better start to his Egolf Amateur Golf Tour career, winning his very first entry back in February at Mid Pines Resort. The Championship Flight player proved it wasn't a fluke today at Carolina Trace Country Club on the Creek Course when he gained his 2nd victory of the young season with a 4-stroke win over Raleigh's Dan Rodgers and Clifford Blanquicet of Sanford.
Macejko shot a 2-over 74, on the 6,845 yard layout, aided by an eagle-3 on the 495 yard, par 5, 11th hole. "He (Macejko) just kind of steadied his way home", said Tour Director Bruce Hallenbeck.
"I'm going to the Tour Championship in Hilton Head if I qualify", stated Macejko, referring to the National Finals which will feature the top players from over 40 Tours nationwide competing for the Tour's top spot. "With his win today and the other quality finishes he's enjoyed up to this point, he's virtually assured a spot in the big-one at the end of the year" said Hallenbeck.
Another player who can start making travel plans for Hilton Head is the C Flight's Bill Wilkinson. The Rolesville resident was the only C Flight player who broke 90 in this event with a strong 85. "I'm trying to play in every event on the schedule this year. That way I can be sure to get enough points to make the Finals", explained Wilkinson.
Wilkinson was a comfortable 6 shots clear of Raleigh's Steven Bell and Pinehurst's Eric Hunt, who was playing in his very first Tour event. Tour veteran Bell remarked "Finally", when told his 91 had earned him a $110.00 Mastercard prepaid debit card for his 2nd place finish.
Cary's David Cotton equaled the lowest score in the event today with a 74 in the A Flight competition. Although the A Flight played from shorter tees than the Championship Flight, it was still an impressive number as scores were up throughout the flight. Cotton edged Chuck Latham of Vass by 2 shots.
Cuong Ton of Greensboro, who last year made the "jump" from C to B Flight, got his first victory at the higher level with a 78 that included birdies on 4 of 5 consecutive holes. James Adams of Dunn was 1-stroke back in 2nd.
Entries are still being accepted for new members to compete this year on the Egolf Tour. Any amateur golfer interested in playing real tournament golf can contact Hallenbeck at behgolf@aol.com, or by phone at 336-495-6556.
