REYNOLDS FIRES CAREER-LOW EGOLF ROUND!

Holly Springs, NC (August 16, 2008) - Raleigh's Rob Reynolds has been playing competitively on the Egolf Amateur Tour for the past eight years. He had never posted a sub-par round in A Flight competition - that is until this week's event at Devils Ridge Country Club. Reynold's used 3 birdies to help him post a 1-under 71 on the 6,430 yard course and cruise to a 4 shot win. Just to put the icing on the cake, he walked away with the long-drive contest as well.
Not that Reynolds hasn't enjoyed success in the past "on-Tour" - he has had numerous A Flight victories, along with being the season-long scoring average leader and top finisher in the Points Standings on more than one occasion. "Rob started with us when we were still called the "Carolina Blonde Tour" - that's going back quite some time now", said Tour Director Bruce Hallenbeck. "He's probably played in as many events through the years as any member we have. He's got a real positive attitude every time he shows up. That's probably why all the other flight members like to be paired with him".
David Teal of Fayetteville was 2nd with a 75.
The Championship Flight played from the 7,002 yard Black Tees here, but that didn't seem to pose a problem for Doug Michal of Raleigh who finished 2 shots clear of Greensboro's Nathan Bailey with a 73. Michal had a bit of a rough start with bogies on 2 of his first 3 holes, but remained a picture of consistency the rest of the way for the win.
Only one B Flight member was able to break 80 in the event, as Charles Fergusson of Fayetteville shot a 79 to take the top spot. Fayetteville's Adam Perry nipped Woody Park of Clemmons in a scorecard playoff for 2nd as both had regulation 81s.
The 85 that James Adams of Dunn posted in the C Flight gave him a 3-shot edge over Reidsville's Ray Schenkel. Adams and Schenkel were the only two C Flight competitors to break the 90 mark in the event.
