eGolf Amateur Tour kicks off the season at the Legacy Golf Links
Due to the forecasted inclement weather for this Saturday, Jan. 30, we have decided to postpone our initial pre-season event of the 2010 schedule. The new date for this event will be one week later on Saturday, Feb 6th - same start time - 11am shotgun.
This is basically an unprecedented step, because during the regular season it is always a "game-day" decision as to whether or not we will cancel or postpone an individual tournament. We are making this move now ahead of time because the forecast calls for both precipitation and very cold temperatures. We could deal with either situation by itself, but the combination of both represents a potential health hazard, and after all - this is supposed to be fun!!
Because the event is a sell-out, if you are on the roster for this Saturday, you will remain on the roster for the make-up event on Feb 6. The only way you will be removed from the roster is if you contact me and ask to be removed because of some schedule conflict. If I do not hear from you I will expect to see you at The Legacy on the new date.
For those of you who are on the waiting list, your status will remain the same - I will call you if an opening occurs (which will probably be more likely due to the date switch).
I regret having to make this move, but I think in the long-run it will make for a lot more happy golfers who can compete in conditions that might actually allow them to play up to their potential. Nobody likes to play in crummy weather and "balloon" a score because they can't hold on to a club, or are wearing so many articles of clothing that they can't make a proper swing, not to mention freezing your butt off!
I look forward to seeing all you guys on Feb 6, in hopefully much better weather conditions.

Hey Guys:
Welcome back to current tour members and congratulations to all the newbies that will be joining the egolf Amateur Tour this year.
We hope each of you had a Merry Christmas and a good start to the New Year. I want to take this time to thank tour members for your support of the Tour. We enjoyed a very successful year "on-Tour" in 2009 and your participation in that effort is greatly appreciated. As we look ahead to 2010, I expect it to be every bit as good for you as last year.
There have been a number of things I've been working on and I wanted to briefly go over some of the highlights of what you can look forward to this coming season. Again, like last year we continue to bring you new courses we think you will enjoy playing and changed a few dates to take better advantage of course conditions. Plus, we are looking at a new prize pool package we think you will like. (it will be announced in next newsletter).
Also, in 2010 we will crown the Piedmont Tour flight champions in an exciting 2 day tournament in late September.
1. NEW COURSES
We have been able to secure event dates for the following courses that were not on the 2009 schedule: Highland Hills, Twelve Oaks (recently opened private Jack Nicklaus course in Holly Springs), The National, and Bentwinds. With these new additions, we will have events on over 10 totally private venues in 2010.
The improved schedule will make us more attractive to prospective new members (as well as "old pros" such as yourself) and hopefully result in larger events with bigger prize pools, not to mention the fact that it will attract even more first rate courses to sign on for future seasons.
See complete 2010 tour schedule by clicking the button on the left.
2. PRIZE POOL
We will be going with a national retailer that will provide you an opportunity to buy all types of products and gifts and with multiple locations will make it easier for you to redeem your winnings. I also think that this might make some wives and girlfriends a little more inclined to encourage you to play more often.
3. SIGN-UP
The sign-up fee is only $85 and you can either mail to me or pay on line. If you send by Friday, January 15th send me only $75.00 or $78.00 via credit card on the website. The first tournament is at the Legacy Lakes Golf Links and as always because both the Senior and Amateur tours play, it will fill-up pretty quickly, so sign-up early.
In closing I would again like to thank you for your loyal support of the Tour. I look forward to seeing some of you at our annual pre-season event at The Legacy on Jan 30, and the rest of you a little later on when the Tour starts up for the regular season. The full schedule is now on the website at www.amateurgolftour.net

This is the Season Opener, So You Truly Don't Want to Miss This One.
We will once again have members from both the egolf Amateur Golf Tour and the Harris Teeter Senior Tour compete in this season-opener. Because of the two Tours competing, and "cabin-fever" working for us, this event always draws a large field and equally large prize pool. Obviously on that date we're "rolling-the-dice" on the weather, but we have some flexibility to reschedule if conditions warrant.
