Aberdeen, NC (August 2, 2008) - The winner in 3 of the 4 Flights contested in Saturday's Egolf Amateur Golf Tour event held at The Legacy Golf Links was determined by a single stroke. Randleman's Brock Elder took home the top prize in the Championship Flight with a 75 - one shot better than a trio of golfers - Jared Jewett and Bryan Sepich, both of Winston-Salem, and Raleigh's Pat Cloughtery.
In the A Flight Cary's Tad Galloway also edged out 3 players for first - Fayetteville's David Teal, Raleigh's Greg Grabus, and Randleman's Kenny Smith. The B Flight also saw a win pulled out by the narrowest of margins as David Randall of Pinehurst nipped Raleigh's Anthony Maniscalco, 80 to 81. Raleigh's Richard Pfister was one stroke back in 3rd.
The most dramatic score of the day was turned in by Durham's Daren Green in the C Flight. Green, who sports a 90.1 scoring average this seaon on-Tour, had a dream round as he posted a 7-over 79 for a comfortable 3-shot win over Jack Frazier of Clemmons. Raleigh's Harold Alvarez was another player who posted his best score of the season with an 84, good enough for 3rd place in the flight.
