Wallburg, NC (April 10, 2010) - Prior to the shotgun start of Saturday's Egolf Tour event at The Meadowlands Golf Club, a cheer went up from the assembled field as it was announced that all future prizes "on-Tour" would be in the form of pre-paid Mastercard debit cards. "Being paid with Mastercards ought to bring a bunch of new members to the field each week" said Tour member Mike Hindmarsh of Ramseur. Tour Director Bruce Hallenbeck concurred. "The excitement generated by the new prize system has been great - it will definitely help us attract more members". Hindmarsh was the immediate beneficiary of the switch, winning the B Flight with an 80 that landed him a $220.00 card. Six other Tour members took home prizes in excess of $100.00, led by Championship Flight winner James Moore of Greensboro who shot a 74. Summerfield's Mike Crawford topped the A Flight with a 76, while Winston-Salem's Steve Ball, a Tour rookie this year, won his first event "on-Tour" with an 85 in the C Flight. "Even the guys who came in in 4th place today were able to fill their tanks up on the way home with their winnings" Hallenbeck went on to say. "I couldn't be more pleased with the guy's reaction to the change".
