4 EARN SPOT TO TOUR FINALS IN EGOLF EVENT

Mebane, NC (May 22, 2010) Four Tour members punched their tickets to Hilton Head for the national Tour Finals in October by virtue of their Major Championship wins today at Mill Creek GC. That year-ending event brings together the top golfers from all 37 Egolf Tours nationwide. It holds the distinction of being the largest single event ever contested on the island.
"The guys get really pumped about going down there to compete against the best", said Tour Director Bruce Hallenbeck. "It's going to be a three day event this year, and with the great golf courses and accommodations that we offer on the trip, it makes for a memorable experience. Offering an automatic invitation to the flight winners of any of our four Major Championships during the regular Tour schedule is a nice incentive to have them come out".
112 members signed up for the Mill Creek event and competed for not only the championship, but also for the prize pool and skins pool which combined, were in excess of $3,000. "Nobody gets rich out here, but they do enjoy getting Mastercard debit cards for as much as $250", noted Hallenbeck.
While play was affected by a thunderstorm that hit after about 13 holes were completed and caused scores to rise somewhat, the four flight winners still managed to post very respectable scores for their wins. Park Williams of Kernersville shot a 76 from the 7,004 yard Gold Tees to top the Championship Flight. In the A Flight, which played from the shorter (6,387 yard) Blue Tees, Bobby Elder of Randleman won by one stroke, also firing a 76. It took a playoff for Rob Nash of Clemmon's to edge Durham's Daren Green for the B Flight title with a par on the 1st extra hole. Rounding out the four flight winners was Raleigh's Mark Harders, who's 84 topped the C Flight competition.
"Almost every guy stuck it out through the late rain today - that's the kind of competitors we've got out here. It's awesome to compete against guys like that", said B Flight winner Nash.
Memberships are still available for the 2010 season on the Tour which is open to any amateur golfer. Contact Hallenbeck at 336-495-6556, or email him at behgolf@aol.com.
