Jody Clary has eight birdies on Sunday to fire a 66 at Irish Creek!

eGolf Open Winners from Statesville CC and the Club at Irish Creek!
Thanks to the staff at both Statesville & Irish Creek playing conditions could not have been better for the eGolf Open Major!
Championship Flight:
Jody Clary started the day 2 shots back of leader Steve French but by the third hole Clary had already gotten those back by birding two out of his first three holes. Clary continued to fill the cup up with another birdie at the fifth hole turning in 34. Then Clary slammed the door shut with 5 birdies on the back side (10,12,13,14,15) which included four in a row. Jody’s final round 66 was good enough for a 5 shot victory and a two day total of 138. Jim Aughtry also made a big move with a 2 under par 69 on Sunday. Aughtry playing in the group ahead of Clary applied the pressure on the front nine firing a 3 under par 32. Aughtry continued his stellar play on the back but did bogey the 15 and 17th holes to finish in second place at (2) under par 141. Joe Jaspers played consistent all weekend and finished with an even par total of 143 to finish in third place. Rounding out the top four was Chad Frye at 145.
A Flight:
Going into Sunday Mike Harter had a one shot lead over Chad Ballard; the only two players to break 80 at Statesville CC on Saturday. Sunday was a totally different story as Andrew Chappuis came roaring back with his tour best round 73. Chappuis had 3 birdies on Sunday against only four bogies. Chappuis two day total of 155 was good enough to win by four shots. Finishing ties for second place were Don Bridges and Chad Ballard both players were at 159. Bridges beat out Ballard on the card for second spot. Roger Stevenson continued his consistent play and finished in fourth spot with a 161 total.
B Flight:
Marty James and Steve Williams both tied after 36 holes at 156 and then went into a three hole sudden-death playoff. It was James beating out Williams on the third hole with a par. After this event both players received a promotion and will be in A Flight for the rest of the season. Tim Stahlschmidt played very well all weekend with 79 on Saturday and 82 on Sunday to finish the tournament in third place. Terry Upright your first round leader finished in fourth spot at 162.
C Flight:
Ken Reece won first place along with a B flight promotion with a 2 day total of 164. Christian Casper finished 4 shots behind Reece for second spot at 168. Christian shot the same score at both courses a pair of 84’s. William Buie finished in third spot with 173 and Nolan Elenz beat out Allen Hagen on the card for 4th place at 177.
