Jaspers, Wallace, Willoughby, Wrigglesmith and Bowman all win at Northstone; Greg Ries had first ace of the season!
Champ Flight:
Joe Jaspers continues his dominance this year as he cruised
to a 2 shot victory by firing a 75. Jim
Aughtry and Jobe Dyson both finished at 77 with Aughtry grabbing second on the
card. Tim Smith rounded out the top four
spots with 78. The shot of the day came
From Greg Ries as he aced the par three 13th hole with a wedge from
139 yards. For Ries it was his second
career hole-in-one but first ever in a tournament. The tours continue there assault on
Northstone as that is back to back hole-in-one this year as The Senior tour had
a ace on number 7 earlier in the month.
Also a year ago Scott Ide also aced number 7 , both Ries’ & Ides
Hole-in-ones I witnessed as I was in the foursome.
A Flight:
Steve Wallace came in from the Upstate Tour and walked away
with the win at 79. Marion Mitchell,
Phil Vangeersdaelen and Clabie Edmond all tied at 81 on the card playoff
Mitchell cashed second and VanGeersdaelen was third.
B Flight:
Rod Willoughby won for the first time this year as he won by
4 shots at 81. Shane Hogan And Janse Van
Rensburg ties at 85 with Hogan winning on the card. David Johnson fired 86 and finished solo
fourth.
C Flight:
Sean Wrigglesmith’s debut was a great one as he finished
first with 89. Also starting the season
out was tour veteran Ken Young and he also played well with a second place
90. Mike Goga and Rich Golden tied with
92 and Goga grabbed third on the card.
D Flight:
Cory Bowman makes it back to back wins with 95 followed by Ryan Sicher at 100
beating out Andy Captain on the card for second. Jon McIssac took solos fourth with 104.
