Edgewater Golf Club - February 16, 2019
100 Golfers came out with the hope that Mother Nature would
not ruin the day. While the course was
saturated from the previous days rain, the rain held off for most of the event
and we were able to complete the event without any delays. Thank you to all the
players for coming out and also raising another $275 for our Stand Up To Cancer
drive.
In the Championship Flight, it was our reigning flight
champion, Jay Barnes, who shot a great Even par round of 72 and wins by 3
shots. Scott Robert (75, +3) and Joe
Jaspers (75, +3) tied for 2nd but it was Roberts who wins using the scorecard
playoff. Solo 4th went to John Heffernan
(76, +4).
In the A Flight, 18 holes could not settle who would claim
the championship. Michael Brandenburg,
Rich Revels and Eric Stanwick all shot 81 (+9) and had to return to the 18th to
settle the score. It only took one hole
for Brandenburg to claim victory. 4th
place went to Jason Breedlove with a score of 82 (+10).
In the B Flight, Roger Stevenson claims a 3 shot victory
with a score of 80 (+8). Joshua Calhoun
(Upstate Tour), took solo 2nd with a score of 83 (+11). Allen Iverson gets his
first cash of the year with a score of 84 (+12). Bernie Loehr claims with after a scorecard
playoff with Chuck Young, both shot sores of 85 (+13)
In the C Flight, we had a few players in the clubhouse that
were watching live score with close attention as there were 3 players tied for
2nd. As luck, would have it, the leader
made a double bogie on his final hole and forced another playoff to occur. Russell McDonald, Steve Daniels and Brandon
Halsey all went back to 18 to settle the score.
All 3 golfers shot 88 (+16) on the day.
Just like the A Flight, the playoff only took one hole as McDonald was
able to make par and claim the victory.
Going back to the scorecard playoff method gave Halsey 2nd and Daniels
3rd.
In the D FLight, Aaron Feilds (91,+19) claims a 3 shot
victory over newcome Dustin Church (94, +22).
3rd place went to Joseph Pirz (96,+24).
Next on tap is Ballantyne Country Club on Monday, March
4th. This event will sell out this week
so please register and pay to ensure your spot in the field.
Thanks as always
