Jay Barnes finally broke through to get his first win ever on tour after loosing in 2 sudden-death playoffs earlier in the season. After day one scores from Cowans Ford CC eleven players were with 5 shots of the leaders. Day One leaders were Billy Hall, Michael Bailey and Jay Barnes all at even par 72. As day two progressed Barnes made it known right away this was going to be his event as he birdied his first four holes to start his round and then birdied seven after bogging six to make the turn at 32.
The back nine Barnes closed the deal by playing solid golf birding the par five 13th hole and parring all the rest for a closing 5 under par round of 67. Barne’s 2 day total of 72-67=139 gave him a four shot victory over Billy Hall. Billy also played great both days finishing the tourney at one under par 72-71=143 for second spot. Jim Aughtry fired a 2 under par round on Sunday to vault to third place money at 144 and Andy Price also came back with 69 Sunday to finish fourth at 146.
