Chad Frye and Andy Price played almost identically on Saturday at the CC of Salisbury. Both player turned the front nine at even par 35’s and the back nine at one over par 37’s. Price had four birdies against Frye’s 3 but in the end both players fired one over par 72’s and went to a sudden-death playoff. Starting the playoff on the par 4 tenth hole Frye played the hole perfectly making par against Price’s bogie. Now this week we Go to Prices home track where he will try to avenge his playoff loss. Joe Jaspers tried to catch up on the back nine but fell 2 shots short with 74, good enough for 3rd place. Jerry Surratt call Salisbury his favorite course on tour and Saturday finished 4th with 75.
A Flight:
Just like Championship Flight A Flight could not be finished in just 18 holes. James Brannen and Greg McCoy finished regulation at 80 and also went to a sudden-death playoff on the 10th hole. Once again par would be a good score as McCoy beat Brannen on the first playoff hole. The victory was McCoy first of the season but his second sudden-death playoff, loosing in the tour opener to Dennis Reames at Carolina Lakes. Don Bridges continues his improved playing finishing in third place Saturday with 81. Rounding out the top four places was Mike Nasekos cashing with 82.
B Flight:
With only one more group to post it looked like Phil VanGeersdalen was going to post his first victory of the season but last years B flight points winner and Mr. Consistent took victory away from Phil. Jimmy Chapman turned in an 80 to capture first place and his first victory of the 2011 season. VanGeersdalen finished in second place with 83 and Vic Lawrence grabbed third at 84. Newcomer Rich Daniel beat out Josh Bumgarner on the card for 4th place money. Both players fired 86’s.

Todd Mullis playing in his first event of the season came out ready to play and won by just a single stroke. Mullis fired a smooth 86 besting Ritchie Love who finished in second place with 87. Larry Hinson was the only other player to break 90 and finished in solo third place with 88.
