Mark Wagner started out with a bang as he holed his wedge shot on the first hole for an eagle 2. Wagner also birdied number 8 and turned at 3 under par. Jim Aughtry was right on Wagner’s heels with birdies at 4 & 5 but a triple bogey on nine put him 5 shots back at the turn. The only other real challenger after the front nine was David Schmidt who fired an even par 36 with and eagle at the par 5 sixth hole. Wagner bogied 12, 15 and 17 to let Aughtry and Schmidt back in the title hunt as he finished with even par 72. Aughtry did not let number nine get him down as he quickly birdied 10,14, and 15 but bogies and 11 & 12 left him none shot back. Schmidt took the eagle route again making an eagle three out of the green side bunker on the par five 13th. Schmidt’s chance for the sole victory or playoff ended when he bogied the 18th. Wagner got the victory with 72 followed by Aughtry and the Schmidt’s one over par 73’s. Randy Peck cashed for the first time this season with a fourth place finish at 77.

On the card Perlman nipped Ewing for third place money.

Mike Espin and Joe Lewis found themselves tied after 18 holes with scores of 84. The first playoff hole was the difficult 18th which saw Espin knock it to within 15 feet for birdie. Now with the pressure on Lewis had to make a long par putt to have a chance but when it slide by on the low side Espin just knocked his birdie putt to within a foot and tapped in for the victory. Rich Daniel pared his last three holes to grabbed solo third place at 85. Jimmy Chapman and Clif Morgan finished tied for fourth with 86 but Chapman got Morgan on the card for the money.
