The eGolf Amateur Tour takes a couple of weeks off for July 4th break but then resumes on July 17th at River Hills CC on Lake Wylie. Please email me back (Yes or No) ASAP. This is a 1:30 shotgun start. This is a great old private club in terrific shape. Practice rounds are available Tuesday-Thursday only for $35 but you must be entered in the tournament because the course will have a roster of names to check. Have a great 4th of July and look for the announcement of the National Championship course selection next week. Championship Flight: Joe Jaspers was the only player to shoot under par both days in this weekends eGolf Open. Jasper fired 65 at Statesville and 70 at Irish Creek for a 36 hole score of 135, nine under par. Jim Aughtry and Jody Clary tied for second place at 144 but it was Aughtry beat out Clary on the card for second. Andy Price fired a 2 under par 70 at Irish Creek to finish up in fourth place with 146. A Flight: Tommy Lee played consistent all weekend at won his flight with a 2 day total of 148. Scott Ide coming off 5 straight days of golf improved everyday as he claim second place with a 154 total. Chad Ballard got back in the money and finished in third place at 156. Mike Nasekos rounded out the top four spots at 157. B Flight: William Buie who had recently been promoted from C flight now has a B flight major to his credit as he beat out Scott Huneycutt by 2 shots for first place on Sunday. Buie fired a 2 day total of 160 while Huneycutt grabbed second place with a 162 total. Jerry York had the first round lead but faltered a little bit on Sunday to finish in third place at 163. The rounds did move Jerry’s handicap to 8.2 thus promoting him to the A flight for the remainder of the season. Congrat’s Jerry on your continued improvement on tour. Rounding out the top five were Dean Hearn & Joe Lewis at 164. C Flight: Sindo Mayor captured the eGolf Open trophy as he won by 3 shots over Tidewater’s own Glen Sweitzer. Mayor fired a 2 day total of 162 while Sweitzer was at 165 for second place. Jim Hestikind narrowly captured third place by one shot at 172 and four players battled it out on the card for fourth place money. Matt Crates got fourth over Jeff Gastineau, Mike Hinson and Nolan Elenz. After all C flight scores were posted both Mike Hinson and Nolan Elenz joined the ranks of the promoted moving up to the B flight.
