Championship Flight: Joe Jaspers started slow Saturday with a bogie on the first hole, which would be his last of the day. Then Jaspers began hitting every green but sank no birdie putts until he 2 putted the par five 8th hole for his first birdie of the day. Following that birdie with another at nine to finish the front side at 35. Jaspers birdied the par five 11th hole and then the fireworks at #14 (Chad Frye's favorite #) when he holed his wedge out from the fairway for an eagle 2! Finshing up his great back nine Jaspers birdied 17 & 18 to seal his victory with a 31 on the back. Jaspers needed to finish strong since Jakin Fox had just eagled the 17th right in front of Joe to get to 3 under par for the day. Fox finshed second with a 69,just ahead of pair of 70’s by points leader Chad Frye & Cory Howard. Frye beat Howard on the card for third place. A Flight: Drew Miller tasted victory for the first time this season with a great round of 74. Senior Tour veteran Steve Romito finished in second 3 shots behind Miller with a 77. Chad Ballard who recently was promoted from B flight cashed for the first time in A Flight with a 78 good for third. Roger Stevenson shot 79 to cash in at 4th place. B Flight: Jeff Cayo shot 77 Saturday to capture first place by one shot over two other players. Russ Gamblin and Matt cole both shot the 78’s with Gamblin getting second on the scorecard playoff. Newcomer Zoltan Ferencz cashed for the first time this year with an 80 which got him fourth place. Again congrat’s to Cayo & Gamblin who are now new A Flight members. This continues the run of promotions from B to A flight by many players this season. Glad you all are getting your games improving for the summer stretch. C Flight: Kevin Snyder shot his career low round of his golfing career by posting a low C Flight 78. Snyder obviously received an automatic promotion to B flight after his career round. Chris Bolick and Dick Curtis Both shot 85 Saturday with Bolick beating out Curtis on the card for second.
