Championship Flight: Adam Vincent got the first hole-in-one of the season by knocking a 5iron in from 200 yards on the par 3 5th hole Saturday. Adams great shot also got him a golf trip for 2 from Perks and Pats the tours sponsor. Adam fired a 4 under par 68, spurred by his ace at the fifth, and then followed up by three more birdies in a row. Michael Bailey finished 2 shots back with fine 2 under par 70 which included seven birdies on the day. Three player’s tied at one under 71’s with Stephen Chuilli besting Joe Jaspers for third place. Jaspers was able to cash a fourth place beating points leader Chad Frye on the card. A Flight: Chuck Wallace won for the first time this season shooting a 74 on Saturday at Crescent. Continuing his stellar performance since being moved up to A flight Mike Nasekos finished 2nd place with 77. Jake Wright, Jim Boyce and Steve Romito all shot 78’s with Wright finishing 3rd and Boyce 4th. B Flight: Phil VanGeersdaelen made it two in a row in sudden-death playoffs this time beating 2 other player’s. Phil’s last victory came in a one hole playoff over Jimmy Singh at Cabarrus CC. Yesterday at Crescent VanGeersdaelen, Floyd and Blom all finished tied with 78’s. Going to replay the 18th hole VanGeersdaelen almost holed his 6 iron from the right rough for the tap in birdie victory. Matt Blom and Floyd finished 2nd and third respectively. Playing his best round of the year Geof Smith fired a nice 79 good enough for 4th place. Congrat’s to Phil & Don who continue the march of B Flighter’s getting promoted to A Flight. Good luck to both players’ we know they will do well in A. C Flight: Newcomer Dick Curtis shot 82 Saturday good enough for a 2 shot victory over Chris Bolick. The win and current handicap will move Curtis to B flight for next weekends major. Matt Papes finished fourth with a 85 beating out Johnny Davis who shot 87 good enough for 4th place.
