Chase Wilson wins in a playoff and Andrew Chappuis defeats Scott Huber in a 2 hole sudden-death playoff!

Chase Wilson (Champ) Andrew Chappuis (A Flight) Chris Bolick (B Flight) Allen Hagen (C Flight) Statesville CC Winners!
Another great day and we finally got to play the ball down everywhere! Thanks to the staff at Statesville CC on getting the course in the bext shape we have seen for several years despite all the rain this week. The tour looks forward to coming in June on the first day of the major.
Congrats also goes out to Joe Jaspers on qualifying for the final stage of the US Open! Joe will compete in the 36 hole qualifier on June 8th and get this, Joe is paired with Billy Andrade in a two some for 36 holes. Also congrats to Chase Wilson for firing a medal round 68 to qualify for the NC Amateur.
Championship Flight:
Chase Wilson and Mark Wagner finished tied at 74 on Saturday but it was Wilson who beat out Wagner for first Place. Due yourself a favor and look at our photo gallery and you’ll see why Wagner did not Tee it up for the sudden-death playoff. Wilson really wanted to say he beat “Elvis†in Sudden-Death. In third place Michael Bailey beat out Erik Andrews on the card with both players shooting 76.
A Flight:
Andrew Chappuis won for the first time this season but it took him 20 holes to get the win. Chappuis and Scott Huber both shot 80 at Statesville CC and then went into sudden-death with Chappuis winning on hole number 11. Chad Ballard trying to win back to back events fell one shot short of the playoff in third place with 81. Mark Day recently promoted from B flight cashed for the first time in A Flight beating out James Brannen on the card with 83.
B Flight:
With only one group remaing we were getting ready to crown Vic Lawrence as the Champion until Chris Bolick came in at 76, his best score ever on tour. Chris enjoyed his first victory of the season in fine fashion. Vic Lawrence at 82 got second and Dean Hearn beat out Greg McCoy on the card for third spot. Both Hearn and McCoy fired 83’s.
C Flight:
Allen Hagen fired his best score of the season to win by one shot on Saturday. Hagen won with 82 just nipping out Pinehurst tour player William Buie who shot 83 for second place. Matt Crates cashed for the first time this year after hitting range balls for about an hour before the tourney. Crates 87 was good enough for third place while Roger Tench beat out Darren Gentile on the card with 88’s.
