Tanglewood Golf Course Results
On Saturday August 6th, the Central Carolina Senior Amateur Golf Tour took on the
Championship Course at Tanglewood Park. Good weather and great course
conditions and greens greeted the competitors.
In the Champ flight, Ross Brown fired a one over par 71 to take the victory by a
single stroke in his first tour event. Kyle Moffett was runner up with a score
of 72. In third place, with a score of 74, it was Dave Brown from the Charlotte
Tour. Jim Aughtry from the Charlotte Tour placed fourth carding 77, while
Christopher Berry rounded out the top five scoring 79.
Paul Hundhammer scored a five shot win in the A flight as he posted a score of 78.
Director Chuck Smith and Alec Cates completed their rounds with matching scores
of 83 in a T2 finish. Meanwhile, Jimmy Bryant from the Charlotte Tour placed
fourth shooting 88.
The B flight required a sudden victory playoff as Jason Smith and Ricky Urbach from
the Charlotte Tour ended regulation play with identical scores of 81. On the
first playoff hole, Jason rolled in a putt for par that Ricky was unable to
match giving Jason his second win of the season. Rob Andrews grabbed third
carding an 82, while Shawn Cacioppo placed fourth with a score of 84. Bryan
Hough from the Eastern NC Tour rounded out the top five posting 85.
In the C flight, Kevin (Matt) Painter from the Charlotte Tour fired 85 to give him the three shot victory.
Tom Kubla was the runner up posting 88. Andy Parker and Giovanna Jackson matched scores of 89 in
their T3 finish. And Don Michaux, back after a surgical procedure, rounded out the top five scoring 98.
In the D flight, Greg Dotson fired off a score of 86 to win the flight by 4
strokes. Runner up Mike Charles shot a score of 90. Benton Smith carded 91 to
place third, while David Rosier posted 93 for the fourth place finish. Mark
Dyvig from the Charlotte Tour and Vince Thompson rounded out the top five as
each carded scores of 94.
