The Golfweek Amateur Tours next stop is this May 12th Saturday as we go to the great old private club Cabarrus CC. Then the following week we go to another great private club the Nicklaus designed Palisades on Lake Wylie.

Championship Flight:
Jim Aughtry continues his great play this year as he won by 2 shots at Stonebridge over the weekend. Aughtry started day one with a double bogey & bogey start only to right the ship and make 11 birdies the next two days to post a winning score of 68-68=136 eight under par total. Joe Jaspers cashed in second with a six under two day total of 138 and Chris Cassetta was third at 4 under par 140. Billy Hall rounded out the top four spots with a 36 hole one under par performance.
A Flight:
Phil Gregorich started day two four shots back but was able to make it all back with a final round score of 73. Gregorich won the 2 day event by only one shot with an 81-73-154 total. Newcomer Danny Formeck played consistent all weekend and finished in second place at 155. Kevin Ronan grabbed third at 157 and Daryl Ewing was fourth at 158.
B Flight:
David Aussicker won by three shots as he posted 76’s both days for a victory score of 152. Mark Gregory finished three shots back at 155 and Alex Allendes beat out Daniel Weber on the card playoff for third place. Both Allendes and Weber shot two day totals of 156.
C Flight:
Mike Grant won his first major ever and did so going away by 6 shots. Grant fired 82-84-166 for the victory. Ken Burke finished in second at 172, beating out Giovanna Jackson on the card playoff. Cooper Daniel rounded out the top four places with a nice two day total of 173.
D Flight:
This was our biggest field of the season and Chris Harmon and Joseph Rinaldi battled all weekend for the win. Harmon ended up winning at 186 and Rinaldi grabbed second place money with 187. Last weeks winner Jay Turner captured third place with 197 and Chris Smith was fourth at 199.
