Jobe Dyson, Chad Hagerman, Mark Osborne, John Page and Bradley Leak all win at The Palisades!
Theme of the day.....Playoffs....
When 18 holes is not enough to decide the winner, extra holes are needed. In the case of the Palisades event, 3 flight winners were decided in on-course playoffs this week.
In the Champ Flight, Jobe Dyson picked up his 4th win on the year shooting 77. Brian McGowan missed getting into a playoff by 1 shot but still took home 2nd place honors. Charles Devenney took 3rd place with an 81 and Bilal Ghandour took home 4th place winning a Scorecard playoff over Dennis Reames.
In the A Flight, Joe Zabrecky and Chad Hagerman needed two extra holes to decide the winner after both players tied with rounds of 77. Hagerman grabbed the win with a par on the 2nd playoff hole. 3rd and 4th place was also decided by a playoff, this time on the scorecard. Stephen Camillieri and Chad Sherrill tied at 78 but it was Camillieri taking 3rd. Overall in this flight the top 10 were seperated by only 3 shots...Shot of the Day....was made by Downeast visitor Warren (skippy) Hackler. On 16 after missing his drive to the right side of the fairway, it appeared that Warren would have to hit a high Cut to get to the green....but no....Warren executed the SKIP shot over the pond skipping the ball twice accross the water and laying up just short of the green. From there it was a chip and putt for a par. Now....whether he meant to skip it accross is another story.
In the B Flight, once again, 18 holes was not enough....Mark Osborne and Cliff Morgan had to take it back to the course to decide the winner. In this case it took only one extra hole as Mark Osborne was able to seal the victory. Both players shot rounds of 84. 3rd place went to Ben Hughes shooting 85 and 4th place was decided by a scorecard playoff with Harry Diehl winning over Patrick O'Connor. Both players shooting 86.
In the C flight we had our largest margin of Victory. John Page shot a great round of 84 to take top honors. Stefan N-Plotnicki and Elmer Shelly tied for 2nd with rounds of 88 but it was Stefan taking the 2nd place honors with the scorecard playoff. Rounding out the top 4 was Gene Bass witha round of 89.
In the D-Flight another playoff was needed to settle the top soptafter 18 holes was not enough.... Bradley Leak and Michael Martin both shot 94. It took only one extra hole for the playoff to be decided as Leak took home the victory. Rounding out the top 3 was Mark Stone who shot 97.
