The Charleston tour visited Rivertowne Country Club
and for a February Day the weather was very nice, a tad windy but overall, it
was a gorgeous afternoon with some Great Golf;
The Championship Flight is getting more interesting
every event. Every time I peered at the
leaderboard it was neck and nec with 5-6 guys all within a stroke or two of
each other. In the end it was difficult
to top B.J. Hill’s six birdies as B.J. finished with a one under par 71 for a
one-shot victory over Chris Asbel who fired a even par round of 72 in the
difficult wind.
The A flight saw a familiar face return to the winner’s
circle as Mark Ducker played a very steady round of 3 over par golf to secure a
two-shot victory over Tony Walters who held off dan Wanner by a single shot
77-78. That was some super golf being
played.
The B flight had the round of the day as Jason
Jennings won his first ever AGT tournament with a spectacular round of 77 for a
seven-shot victory. The rest of the B
flight had quite the battle as seven players were all within three shots of
each other. Andy Weeks held on to second
with an 84 followed up by Jason Courtney and Jimmy Jones who both shot 85 with
Jason taking the scorecard playoff with a back nine of 40 to Jimmy’s 43.
The C flight had Joseph Deese returning to the
victory circle with a very smooth round of 86 to take a two-shot victory over
Tim Parish and Jack Nutley. Tim edged Jack
on the scorecard playoff. Both players
shot 44 on the back but it was Tim’s last six holes that helped him prevail for
second place.
The D flight welcomed a New Jersey Player as Kevin
Ungaretta, ventured south to avoid the cold and play some good golf with an 8-shot
victory over Ted Deese. Cowboy wound up
in the money after winning the scorecard playoff over David Hill. Thanks to everyone for their support for our
fund raising yesterday. We raised 505.00
for Suicide Awareness, I can’t thank you all enough.
