The Charleston tour headed up to Mannins SC to play a true
hidden gem, Wyboo Golf Club. The course
is in outstanding shape, the weather was hot and so was the golf
In the Championship Flight, we had five players between one
over and one under par. With Mike Cobb
and Brooks Varn safely in the club house at even Par, Elliott Johnson and T.A.
Fulmer both were getting hot. Elliott
and T.A. combined for six birdies on the back, the difference was Elliots two
bogies and T.A.’s clean back 9 resulted in TA winning by a shot with a 2 under
par round.
The A flight was quite the battle as Kevin Lyles 42-32, Bo
Gordon and Nic Callahan all finished at 2 over par. The on course playoff went to Kevin Lyles who
continued his strong play of late.
The B flight also had a three way tie, albeit for second
place as James Devito fired a 1 over par on the back nine for a smooth 76 to
take home the victory. Larry Penfield,
Kyle Trotter, and Sean Mason all posted very nice rounds of 6 over to finish 2nd,
3rd, and fourth respectively.
The C flight had quite the playoff as Sam Marano and Joseph
Deese both fired rounds of 84 to finish tied for the lead. Strange thing was, on the first playoff hole,
they both went fishing as both players found water but it was Sam who got up
and down to secure the Victory.
The D flight was the only flight without any drama as Bobby
Mims played some of the best golf of the year and fired a very impressive 84 to
secure the victory.
