Tight Lies and tough greens were the call of the day as the Charleston Golfweek Amateur Tour took on Pine Forest Country Club in Summerville SC.
The Champ Flight saw B.J. Hill out dual Dan Wanner for top honors as B.J. demonstrated some superior golf prowess on this difficult course by firing a 77 in a round that included 3 birdies and the closest to the pin. Great Round B.J.
The A flight were a little more subdued on this tough track. Tony Capehart returned to the winners circle by carding a very stead 82 while another tour veteran Jace Gause finished two shots back with an 84 that included numerous almost and one heck of a birdie on hole 11!
The B flight saw Devan Lawerence win his second event in three tries this year with an out-of-this-world 78. This round was so good it even surprised Devan! Newcomer Jon Gunnison had his best showing of the year, finishing second with a solid 85 and for the second tournament in a row, Denny Miller won closest to the pin for the B flight.
The C flight witnessed the return of Marlon Jones to the tour. The rest of the C flight wished he waited one more tournament as Marlon started his year by firing a very nice 83 to take the title. Coming in second with a round of 90 was Erik Eadie who also won the C flight CTP.
The D flight saw one very happy Champion as Reggie Simmmons won his first AGT event by firing an 87 on this difficult day. Reggie also collected the closest to the pin for the D flight. Congratulations Reggie! Newcomer T.J. Fabian finished in second with a very good round of 89 and coming in third was Frank Stoner.
