The Charleston tour wrapped up their season at scenic Stono
Ferry golf course in Hollywood SC. This
was an important tournament as just about every flight had players eligible to
win the yearlong points race. In the
Championship Flight, Jeff Emory is shaking off his rust and fired a super round
of 74 to secure top honors over Marty Bunch, Our Champ Flight Season
Champion. In the A flight, Biff Huff and
Glenn Powell were fighting it out for the season long Championship. While those
two battled, Dennis Slezak threw a 78 up on the board for a one-shot victory
over Tony Capehart. The B flight had
Jace Gause trying to track down Tim Sumption for the season Championship.
Neither one played really well as Tim edged Jace for the yearlong title. Matt Root, who has been playing some steady
golf, fired a nice round of 82 for a 2-shot victory over John Lucas for his
first victory of the year. The C flight
had an extremely tight race for the tournament as well as their points
race. 3 Shots separated the top five in
the C flight with Hilton Heads Matthew Nemes edging out our season Champion
Jack Overfield by a single shot; 88 to 89.
The D flight saw a double victory.
Aaron Chase, Mike Miller and Cowboy were all in the hunt for the season
championship. Aaron Won the flight and
the tournament by posting a one-shot victory over Cowboy.
It was a good season and next years schedule will be out in
a couple of months. Next up is the Tour
Championship in Hilton Head on Oct 20-22.
You must register and pay to secure your spot. One flight is already
