The Charleston and Augusta tours took a road trip to one of our favorite layouts, Penny Branch Golf Club in Estill SC. The weather was perfect and we virtually had the course to ourselves.
The Champ Flight was weakened by a couple of late minute cancelations but in the end it was Charleston Tour Player Jeff Emory who fired a 78 to claim the two shot victory over Dan Wanner who is making his comeback from knee surgery.
The A flight saw some spectacular play from Biff Huff who not only cruised around for a smooth 78 but his round also included an Eagle on the par four second hole. That proved the difference as Biff finished one shot ahead of both Mark Ducker from Charleston and Todd Haney from Augusta.
The B flight saw the only playoff of the day as the Augusta Tour's Brian Williams and Robert McMillan both shot 87 to tie for first. In the end Brian defeated Robert.
The C flight saw Charleston tour veteran Dean teal post a very solid round of 86 to take the honors over Brad Morris' 87 and Mike Tanners 88.
The D flight saw some great play as David martin fired an impressive 83 for a one shot victory over Jason Courtney and two shots over Tony James from Augusta.
Our next event is a combo event with the Columbia tour in Orangeburg SC. We will be playing Hill Crest golf course.
