The Charleston Tour tackled Santee National on June 2nd in their own little Southern Regional with players from four tours competing on a great day for golf. The weather was perfect and the course was in outstanding shape.
The A flight saw Rick Hopper from Augusta post the low score of the day with a 76. Following him with a 77's from Charleston with four birdies was Dan Wanner and Jace Gause who shot a 77 with no birdies, both super rounds as well.
B flight had a closely competed field as well as Charleston player Tim Sumption edged Columbia's John Beckman by a single shot. Tim shot a nice 77 and John in the same group shot a 78. Coming in third was Augusta's new comer Mike Bray.
The C flight had Charleston's David Mays besting the field with an 85 followed by Jody Fabian who posted a 88. Coming in third was Charleston's Erik Eadie and Charlotte's Rick Cairns who both shot 89.
The D flight witnessed the newest father on tour, Steve Hartoin fire a blistering 87 besting Columbia's William Hinson by 7 shots. Over all it was a great day with some great scores.
We are off to the Southern Regional in Atlanta on Fathers Day Weekend. That will be followed by Legend Oaks on June 30th. If you haven't signed up for the Southern Regional, please do so as Stone Mountain is a great course and it is always a great time.
