Winners from the Harbor Course: Carrick, Powell, Trigiani, Courtney and Davis
The Charleston Golf Week kicked off their local season on
the Isle of Palms at the Harbor golf course.
The winter freezer event lived up to its name with temps in the 40’s and
constant 15-20 mph winds. New comer to the tour and a last minute add to the field,
Chance Carrick lit up the course with a spectacular two over par 72 from the
back tee’s. Chance finished seven shots
up on Stephen Kauble with his steady play.
In the A flight, Glenn Powell played some nice steady golf himself with
nines of 40 41 for four shot victory over new comer Ed Borja. Biff Huff took third in a score card playoff
with Fred Dixon as the two posted rounds of 86.
The B flight saw newcomer Jason Trigiani show the field he will be a
strong player as he fired a nice round of 79 for a three-shot victory over Jace
Gause who posted an 82. Rounding out the top three with an 84 was John
Saager. Jason Courtney ran away in the C
flight on the strength of his three birdies!
Jason fired an 85 for a seven-shot victory over a trio of golfers, Chris
Huge, Vincent Ackerman and Casey Sullivan with Vincent taking second place
money on the scorecard playoff. The D
flight provided the most drama as Mike Miller and John Davis from Myrtle Beach
booth posted rounds of 103. They took to
the course for an on-course playoff. The
playoff went to the second hole with John securing victory with a very nice
par. We have an exciting schedule so
please check it out on line @ Charleston Golf Week Amateur Tour. Our next local event is Mar 3rd at
the Links of Stono Ferry.
