The Charleston Tour ventured up to Manning for their second
round in Wyboo, this time at Wyboo Golf Club.
The Champ flight was a battle all day as T.A Fulmer had the
lead heading to the final four holes but B.J. Hill played the last four holes one
under par to slip past T.A for the first place finish. This was T.A.’s fifth event and he has placed
second in each one, thinking he is a good bet for next week at Orangeburg.
The A flight saw some spectacular golf as well as Hank
Sieling made it two for two by posting a very nice round of even par for a two
shot victory over three golfers. Stephen
Kauble made his return to the tour with a very nice round of two over with a an
even par 36 on the back nine to take second place money by virtue of a scorecard
playoff over Fred Dixon and Andy Balao.
The B flight went to an on the course playoff as Glenn
Eagerton double bogied his last hole to slip into a tie with Upstate’s Chris
Franklin. The two took to hole one with
Glenn making a nice par on the difficult opening hole for the first place
victory. Billy Hill rounded out the top
3 with a very nice round of 81 to finish one shot out of the playoff.
The C flight Saw Julie Johnson post a very solid round of 83
for a one-shot victory over Larry Penfield who posted a solid 84. Rounding out the top three was Jack Overfield
with an 85. The C flight is turning into
the most competitive division, I am looking forward to seeing how they perform
at Orangeburg next week.
The D flight saw Robert Hill post his first victory of the
year with a very solid round of 86 for a six shot victory over Aaron Chase and
Dean Hill who both posted solid 92’s with Aaron taking home second via a
scorecard playoff
