Wyboo Champs, Hill, Wanner, Becker, Ravenel, Chase
The Charleston Tour ventured up to Manning SC for their
first of two events up in Wyboo. First
up is the Players Course. The course was in great shape and there was some
great golf displayed here. The staff at
Wyboo, especially Kevin Gregory did a first-class job in helping us pull this
off without a hitch.
The Championship Flight saw a back-to-back winner as B.J.
Hill followed up his win at Stono Ferry by posting a 3 under 69 to take top
honors over T.A. Fulmer who finished second with a super round of even par
72. There was a three way tie for third
place with Jammie Manning of Hilton Head, Mike Cobb and Blaine Numann who all
finished 2 over 74. It was Jamie taking home the third-place money by virtue of
the scorecard playoff.
The A flight had spectacular play from quite a few
players. Dan Wanner and Fred Dixon both
fired 3 over 75’s to tie for first place.
In the playoff Dan made a par on the first hole to secure the victory.
Glenn Powell and Jace Gause both tied for third with 4 over 76’s with Glenn
taking home the money via the scorecard playoff.
The B flight had a unique experience. Michael Becker who won the C flight at Stono
Ferry, won the B flight at Wyboo! Great
job Michael. Michael fired a six over par 78 to finish one shot in front of Michael
Menna’s 79. Billy Hill took third place
with a solid round of 82.
The C flight had a playoff of its own as James Ravenel and
Chris Huge both posted rounds of 9 over 81.
It was James taking first place with a par on the first playoff hole to
secure his first victory of the season.
Tom Brady and Jimmy Sullivan tied for third place with Tom taking home
the money via a scorecard playoff.
The D flight had a runaway.
Aaron Chase won for the second time this year by firing an 83 for a
five-shot victory over Charlie Cook who posted a solid round of 88.
