The Charleston Ventured down main road to scenic Seabrook Island
for their Summer Breezer event. We only
got one hole in before our first lightening delay of an hour. After venturing back out for another 5 holes
we experienced our second lightening delay and had to wait an hour and a half before
heading out again under pleasant conditions.
Without the usual Ocean winds the course was susceptible to a few
birdies.
In the Championship flight, Chris Asbell proved the birdies
were out there carding 6 of them while carding a very nice 2 under par round of
70 to take home top honors. John Ashmore
tried his best to apply the pressure but fell back in the end for second place.
The A flight saw Fred Dixon play a steady nice round to
return to the winners circle. Fred
posted 2 over 74 for a five-shot victory over Patrick Gamblin who posted a 79
to take home second place. Eric Tobias was one shot back to complete the top
three.
The B flight saw Sean Kenneck continue his strong play with
a solid round of 76 to take home top honors in the B flight. Coming in Second was Jerry Mast who posted a
solid 83.
The C flight was a battle as the top four places were separated
by 2 shots. James Ravenel held on for
his first victory of the year with a very nice round of 83 to finish one shot
in front of Lyn Rhode and Michael Ridgeway.
Lyn took home second place money on the scorecard playoff.
The D flight saw Michael Miller return to the winners circle
while posting a 96 for a three shot victory over Aaron Chase and Julie
Johnson. Aaron nudged out Julie for
second place winnings by virtue of his 48 on the back nine to Julie’s 50.
