The Legends Golf Course at Parris Island was the host course for the most recent tournament for the Hilton Head-Savannah Tour members. This event was a combo event with the Charleston Tour members. A sell out field of 72 golfers took to the course. The weather for the day was absolutely perfect, with the small 30 minute rain delay in there. The course was in absolutely perfect shape. With some of the fastest greens the tour has played all year, the course was ready to battle. However, so were the players. On this occasion the players won.
The Championship flight saw six tough competitors today ready to do battle for 18 beautiful holes. Playing from the tips at 6900 yards on a difficult course made for some interesting shots. RJ Keurrs from the Charleston Tour dominated the competition today. Keurrs used a variety of shots to claim the victory. Keurrs fired a 73 on the day to best the closest player by 7 strokes. Coming in second was Chris Martinez and Dustin Nemenz with 80's on the card.
The A flight had a nice field of players take to the course today. One of the best stories of the day came from the A flight. Two Charleston players finished one-two in the A flight by shooting 78 and 79 respectively. But the great thing about it was the two players were an uncle and nephew combo, Jared and Chayce Bibbee. Finishing third was Michael Dion with an 80.
The B flight had he biggest group of the day with 22 players. Another great round was seen in the B flight. Recently the winners in the B flight have been shooting in the mid-70's. Today was no different. TJ Leonard and Mason Talley tied for the lead with 78's on the card. After one playoff hole, TJ came put on top. With the 78, TJ will be promoted to the A flight. Congrats TJ. Coming in third and increasing his points lead was Scott Ammons with an 80.
The C flight players were ready to play and win the points. Another Hilton Head-Savannah Tour player claimed the title today in the C flight. Noel Coolican fired a very impressive 83 to win the C flight by one stroke. With the 83 Noel was promoted to the B flight. Congrats Noel! Coming in second was Todd Saylor with an 84.
The D flight saw a first time winner today. Joe Ammons came out of the gate today and was the only player to shoot in the 80's by firing an 89 to claim the his first win of the season. John Wilson from the Charleston tour finishes second with a 92. Jimmy Bryson and Paul McGee finished tied for third with 95's
