Lance Lacombe, Mark Harrison, Mike Salik, Jim Manning and Chris Doty all win the HH/Jax Local Finals at Palmetto Dunes!
Champ Flight:
Lance Lacombe (Jax) shot 73-71-144 to win by just
two shots over 17 other players in Champ Flight this weekend. Jeff
Wong (HH/Sav.) 74-72-146 the tours current National Champion and Styles Smith (Jax) 73-73-146 both tied
in second at 146 totals. Wes Fennel (HH/Sav.) last year’s winner
made a charge Sunday but came up just short with rounds of 77-71-148 and Jamie Manning (HH/Sav.) the day one
leader at 71 fired 77 day two to tie Fennell
at 148.
A Flight:
Mark Harrison (Jax) came from two shots back after
day one to win by three shots. Harrison fired rounds of 79-73-152 for
the three shot victory. Steve Evans (HH/Sav.) 82-73-155 equaled
the low round of the day but finished tied second with Cooper Cram 79-76-155 (HH/Sav.) both at 155. Joe
Bryant (HH/Sav.) was consistent all weekend with 80-79-159 grabbing 4th
place and Jon Lyles (HH/Sav.) and Brian Priester (HH/Sav.) both tied
fifth at 160 totals.
B Flight:
Mike Salik (Jax.) fired 81-81-162 for the two
shot victory. John Robinson (HH/Sav.) and James
Branham (Central Carolina) both challenged Salik but finished at 164. Josh Caputo (Jax) finished solo fourth
at 165 and Paul Sherry (HH/Sav.) and
Brent Miller (Jax) round out the top
five scores at 169.
C Flight:
Jim Manning (HH/Sav.) and Paul Guy (HH/Sav.) both tied with 177 after 36 holes. So off to number one for the sudden death playoff
which both players bogied. Hole Two Manning played the hole perfectly
making a solid par for the sudden-death two hole victory. Manning
was the only flight victory for the Hilton Head/Sav. Tour this
weekend. Matthew Nemes (HH/Sav.) had the first round lead but could not hang
on but finished third with 180. Brian Gregor (HH/Sav.) was solo fourth
at 181 and Robert Porter (Jax) and Derek Hopkins (HH/Sav.) tied fifth with
182’s.
D Flight:
Chris Doty (Jax) lead wire to wire winning by
twelve shots at 177. Joe McGaha (Jax) was solo second at 189
followed by Joe Busher (Jax) at
194. Barry Mathisen (Jax) and Aaron
Masterson (HH/Sav.) both tied fourth with 205.
