What a wonderful way to end the DC Metro Golfweek Amateur
Tour’s 2014 season—two beautiful days playing golf with great competition and
friends! In the end, women won two of the five flights and many people went home
with trophies and gifts. Read on for the details.
The two-day event for the Championship Flight was close but
after battling it out all season, first place went to Van Stemple (153), second
place to Devon Hayes (157) and third to Crews Miller (160).
In the A Flight, Dave Pongrace took home the big trophy
after finishing the two rounds with a combined score of 152. Not too far behind
him was Joe Henson in second place with a 157. The third place finisher wasGordan Brixi with his 161.
Dorinda Pastorek was one of the two women to claim first
place in the season’s last tournament with a combined score of 169 in the B
Flight. Second place winner was Justin Wilson with a 173, following right
behind in third was Alton Smith (174).
The C Flight had the second female trophy winner with Imee
Stackhouse leading the field by five strokes with her two-day score of 172.Frank Harrison from the Tidewater Tour secured second place with his combined
score of 177. Both Dan Pastorek and Ray Wilson finished right on his heels with
179.
Karl Yergey took home the D Flight trophy after finishing
the event with a total of 177. In second place was Ryan King with a 182 and
third went to Chuck Lineberry and his 190. Be sure to look out for pictures and more details about all
