The Golfweek MASTERS at Old Hickory Golf Club was the third
tournament of the year and the third sellout! It has been great seeing so many new players join our
returning members so early in the spring. We are looking forward to having even
larger fields and more great competition throughout the rest of the
season. Make sure you sign-up
early so you don’t get left out! In the meantime, here is the recap from Old
Hickory.
Kyle Howard won
the Championship flight. This was
Kyle’s second tournament and he out dueled veteran Eric Fryatt in a playoff. Third-year member Van Stemple won the A flight with a score of 78, one stroke better
than second-year member Mike Green. Rick Dengler (Philly Tour member)
finished in third place with a score of 81.
B Flight winner, Billy
Lackey, shot 86 followed by a tie for second place between first-year
members Charles Mattocks and Russell Clark. Karl
Yergey competed in his first tournament at Old Hickory, and won the D
Flight with a score of 93. Greg Wentzel came in second place for
the second tournament in a row.
Greg finished four strokes back while John Moriarty finished in third place with a score of 98.
The C flight has been the largest flight in all three
tournaments this year. First-year
member Bruce Foote notched his first
win of the year with a score of 87. Chris
Stechna, competing in his second tournament, finished in second place two
strokes back. Doug Hamacek and Willie
