Lansdowne Recap

Our two-day event was  a mixed bag with birdie after birdie and four eagles on the first day followed by a shortened round the second day because of rain. We even had to have creative playoffs with a golf shop putting contest to determine the winners in two flights! The results are in the books and we are looking forward to the next tournament.

The Championship Flight winner was Eric Fryatt with a two-day score of 167. After shooting a 78 on Saturday and an 89 on Sunday, Eric won the trophy! Visiting Philly member Dave Upchurch took home the trophy in the A Flight. Dave beat DC member Rex Close in a putting competetion to break the tie of a two-day score of 135. Closely behind them was Van Stemple with a combined score of 136 and Mike Sheehan from Tidewater with a 140.

The B Flight was stacked with low scores but Russel Cook took first place with a 132 (82-50). Bruce Foote came in second place with a total of 134 (79-55). Damian Williams, Jim Steed, Nick Gerstner and Bala Perumbala were each separated by one stroke between each person as their scores were 139, 140, 141 and 142 respectively.

A special congratulations goes to David Macke, the winner of the C Flight with a score of 136. Not only did David win the tournamant and take home a trophy but he is getting married as well! Second place went to Thompson Sawyer with the same score (he lost the pro shop playoff). Third place had a tie between Dorinda Pastorek and Herman Brown with a combined two-day score of 138. Similarly, Dan Pastorek and Rob Garland tied with a combined 139.

Finally, the D Flight winner was Greg Wentzel (128) followed closely behind by Jim Forbes (129). These two gentlemen are beginning an on-going rivalry! Claudia Moonen placed third overall as she continues to improve her placement in the flight!
