One of the most exciting parts of the tournaments is watching new people win their flight and receive the trophy. This week had multiple first-time winners. Here are the details!

No stranger to winning, Devon Hayes took home the trophy yet again for the Championship Flight with a score of 74. Jerry Resh came in second place with a 78 while Jack Sheehan finished third with an 81.

After finishing in a tie for second place in the last tournament, John Richards won the trophy for the A Flight by shooting a 77 at Whiskey Creek. Not far behind him was second place winner, James Beresh and his 79. Only one stroke separated him and Jamie Poist (80) in third place.

The B Flight winner was determined by a play-off between Alton Smith and Steve D'Ambrosio. Although both shot an 82, Alton took home the trophy at the end of the day! Dorinda Pastorek finished third with her round of 84 and a scorecard tiebreaker with Steve Stewart taking fourth place.

The C Flight winner was Alex Stahl after carding an 83. His friend (another relatively newcomer to the tour) Ben Farquhar finished second with an 88. Third place went to Kathy Dhanani after she shot an 89 followed by Ray Wilson in fourth with a 90.

Finally, Bertram Reed was excited to win the D Flight for the first time after finishing the round with an 86. Second place winner, Don Cherry shot a 92 and third place went to Greg Wentzel and his 94.

Now that the season is winding down, you may want to keep an eye on the points standings page on the website. Keep in mind that qualification for National Championship requires four tournaments on the DC Metro Tour and placing in the top 10 or so within your flight!
