Our big push for this season will be to
reach the 200+ members mark! Keep in mind we will have early bird
registration through January 31st ($88 includes the $3 online
fee) and will also be attending the Washington DC Golf Show to attract new
members. However, the best new members are the ones YOU invite to play! Be sure
to share the newsletter, the Facebook page and the Amateur Tour website!
Details about the Golf Show may be
found here January 31-February 2 at the Dulles Expo
Center--we will have a booth, do onsite registration for next year and will
even have some prizes! Make sure you stop by and see us if you are there!
Please make sure you continue to support
our sponsors! We have an updated list on the Tour website (click here).
Proceeds we get from sales generated by using the icons on our site are put
back into the DC Metro Tour!
Plan
your summer around the 2014 schedule!
For your convenience, the courses are
listed and linked to their websites on the top left corner of each newsletter. Click here to
complete the registration form for the 2014 season (click here to
pay and receive the early bird pricing). Remember that even
returning members MUST complete the registration form every year!
There are 2 events each month from March
until September (14 total) which count towards the points players earn on the
local DC Metro Tour. We are also offering a Ryder Cup style event this year
(June 21st and 22nd) with the Downeast Tour. Although this does not count
towards a player's standing in the DC Metro Tour, it is a great event filled
with intense competition, great golf and lots of fun!
Start building your summer plans based
around the 2014 schedule--participate in as many tournaments as possible in
order to earn the points needed to place in the top 10 of your flight! Also,
keep in mind that the minimum number of local events required to be eligible to
represent the DC Metro Tour at the National Tournament in October, is 6 of the
14 local DC Metro events!
The 2014 schedule includes 14 local events
(the links below will take you to the page to register for the event):
- 3 Sunday tournaments (March 9, May 18th
and August 24)
- 3 two-day tournaments (May 3rd-4th,
July 26th-27th
and September

Harbor)
