Albie Sanguiliano saved his best round ever for the best time, firing a final-round 68 (33-35) on The Ocean Course at Sea Pines to win the A Flight by one shot over Kevin Dick of the Columbus, OH Tour.
Sanguiliano, playing out of the Philly Metro Tour, finished with rounds of 77-81-68—226 and was able to overcome a 4-shot deficit on the final day.
Albie's round included an Eagle 3 on his first hole of the day (the Par 5 4th hole), and 5 birdies as well as 3 bogeys. Dick finished with rounds of 72-83-72—227 to finish alone in second.
Billy Loftin, playing out of the Louisiana (South) Tour, was the most consistent player over three days, as he put together rounds of 75-77-78—230 to finish in third place while Scott Nichols from Charlotte, NC captured fourth place with rounds of 81-74-76.
Albie's week in Hilton Head also included a Hole-In-One during his practice round at Country Club of Hilton Head the day prior to the first round of the National Championships. Ask him to buy you a drink the next time you see him - tell him the Tour Director insists!
