The inaugural post-season Metro Cup challenge match between the Metro NY Tour and the Philly Metro Tour was held on Saturday September 28^th, 2013 at the 27-hole Neshanic Valley Golf Club in Neshanic Station, NJ. The spectacular golf course was designed by Dr. Michael Hurdzan and opened in 2004. The top 20 available players in 5 flights matched up against each other in 3 different formats:  Better-Ball of Partners (9 holes), Modified Alternate Shot (9 holes), and Head-To-Head Singles (9 holes). It was a perfect autumn day for golf, as players competed on the three different 9-hole courses at Neshanic Valley: Meadow, Lake and Ridge.

Metro NY opened strong with wins in the first 3 Better-Ball matches, but Philly Metro bounced right back winning the next 3, and then 3 of the remaining 4 matches to take a 6 to 4 lead after the first 9 holes of play.

Next up was Modified Alternate Shot, always a challenge! Both teams traded match victories early, with several matches halved in A and B Flight. Metro NY crept within a point after the first C Flight match, but 2 wins in the final 3 matches kept Philly Metro out in front by 11 to 9 at the end of the first 18 holes of play.

Afternoon Singles play began with a split of the matches in CHAMP Flight; 2 of the matches were decided on the 9^th hole. In A Flight, Philly Metro took the first 2 matches, Metro NY the 3^rd and the 4^th was halved. Metro NY staged a comeback in the B Flight, taking 2 ½ of the possible 4 points. At his point the overall score stood at 17 to 15 in favor of Philly Metro, but that is as close as Metro NY would get to a comeback. Philly Metro took 3 ½ points in the C Flight matches and 3 points in D Flight to cruise to a 23 ½ to 16 ½ victory at the end of the day. Detailed results of the matches can be found below.

Special mention to undefeated team members Michael Goldfarb (MNY) , Chis Laughlin (PM), Christopher Moore (PM), George Adams (PM) and Sean Matthews (PM). A fabulous time was had by all on a very enjoyable golf course.
