Our 2-Day Major tournament took us to the Pocono
Mountains on Saturday June 24th & Sunday June 25 th.
A field of forty-four tour members competed at Great Bear Golf Club in warm and
humid conditions on Saturday, and then played at Shawnee Country Club in mosly
sunny conditions on Sunday.
In the Championship Flight, Gary Greenberg
(81-77, 158) bested the entire field on his way to winning the title.
The A Flight winner was George
Steinmetz (84-76, 160), who came from three-strokes back to take the title over
Michael Dupree (81-85, 166). John Weitz
(87-86, 173) was another seven-strokes back.
In the B Flight, Frank Giordano (78-82,
160) ran away from the field for an eleven-stroke victory over Brian Lynch
(90-81, 171). Lou Parducci (89-84, 173)
was another two-strokes back.
The C
Flight champion was Dennis Teeling (87-90, 177) by six-strokes over Dave
Neder (95-88, 183). John Son (93-93,
186) was another three-strokes back.
In the D Flight, John Stevens (93-96, 189) won a close battle by two-strokes
over Luis Feliciano (96-95, 191). Sean Matthews
(100-96, 196) and Rob Kerr (102-94, 196) were tied. Kerr took 3rd on
a match-of-cards.
Our next event on Saturday July 8th, 2017 is at the private Burlington Country Club
in Westhampton, NJ. The scheduled tee times start at 12:00 PM from the 1st
tee. The tournament entry fee is $130.00 and specially priced practice rounds
