Well we finally got the weather right and got this round in, with a pretty good turnout, considering it was Easter weekend. We had some pretty good scores and we had another eagle by Quentin Yarborough…. And it held up in skins… here is a recap of play for each flight:
CHAMP FLT QUENTIN YARBOROUGH had his best round with the tour a 68…with 4 birdies and an eagle on #14 to win this flight. He had 34 on each nine and never trailed in this flight..
A FLT We had a tie for low score at 73 between JARED BEARD and GLEN ONEILL (new member, first event) and they went out on the course and O’NEILL was the winner. And 3rd place went to another newcomer TOM ROBBINS. The back nine was the big difference in this flight, with about 6 players separated by only 3 strokes after the first nine…. But O’NEILL, BEARD AND ROBBINS prevailing.
B FLT JOSE LAGOS back for his first event of 2013 made it work… with a solid round that included 3 birdies for a 79 finishing in second place was RUSSELL LAMOY who had an 82. They both played in same foursome, and after nine LAGOS AND LAMOY were tied with a 40 and MIKE THOMPSON a stroke behind at 41… but on the back nine LAGOS had the better play to win.
C FLT LES BRADSTREET is on a hot streak winning 2nd event in row with an 86 for a 2 stroke win over TOD LITTLE who had an 88. I think BRADSTREET had some help he was playing with the B Flt guys, and just kept up with them, with some steady golf to get the win.
D FLT DAVID GOODWIN was the winner with a solid round of 88, with 44 on each side… for 3 stroke win over DWIGH WILLIAMS AND WILLIAM HINSON who tied at 91….. WILLIAMS 2nd place in a 5 hole playoff on the card….. that’s right it went to five holes.

HOUSE KEEPING #2….. PACE OF PLAY !!! I REALLY NEED YOUR HELP ON THIS; SAT WE HAD A SHOT GUN START AT 1000 AM…… AND YET WE HAD GROUPS FINISH IN 4 ½ HOURS AND ONE GROUP ALMOST 5 ½ HOURS… FOLKS THAT’S NOT GOING TO CUT IT…. I KNOW YOU ALL CAN DO BETTER THAN THAT. ON THE BACK OF THE INSTRUCTIONS WE HAND OUT ARE GUIDE LINES FOR PACE OF PLAY… WE NEED TO GO OVER THEM…. ALSO IN FUTURE EVENTS I WILL BE GOING AROUND THE COURSE CHECKING ON ALL PACE OF PLAY…. IF I SEE THAT YOUR GROUP IS OUT OF POSITION (not keeping up with group in front of you) YOU NEED TO IMPROVE YOUR POSTION BY THE TIME I GET AROUND AGAIN…. IF NOT THEN THE GROUP WILL BE SUBJECT TO PENALTY. WE HAVE TO DO SOMETHING TO ADDRESS THIS, IF SLOW PLAY CONTINUES WE ARE NOT GOING TO BE ABLE TO PLAY THE COURSES WE HAVE, AND I’M SURE SOME MEMBERS WILL QUIT. THIS IS NOT BRAIN SURGERY; ALL A GROUP HAS TO DO IS KEEP UP WITH THE GROUP AHEAD OF THEM…. THEY ARE ON THE GREEN YOU SHOULD HAVE HIT YOUR DRIVES ETC… IT’S AS SIMPLE AS THAT…. PLEASE, LETS WORK TOGETHER ON THIS.
