I want to thank all the players who came out for the Edgewater event…… But we never should have been there. This was a bad day for golf and a lousy example of the beauty of a course like Edgewater. But we will be back, I think we will be able to play it in Sept… will follow up later.

But the news is this was our first live scoring event for 2019 and with the help of some computer savy people, that’s what we will do for 2019.

A FLIGHT.. Some good play from PHIL VANGEERSDAELEN char with a 79 for a 3 stroke win over MIKE GRIGGS Columbia.

B FLIGHT More good play again from the visitors from the north… STEFANO SMITH Charlotte was the winner with a 79, AJ ALMENDINGER Charlotte 85 and JOHN TUCKER Columbia 89.

C FLIGHT JOSEPH JONES continues his winning ways, but first win at one of our events won with an 87.

D FLIGHT MIKE FLANIGAN Charleston beat CHARLES MCCLERKLIN Columbia in a match of cards, they tied for event at 95…. Went to playoff on course and both parred #1 3 times… so we ran out of light.

50/50 pot …. $120 to Allan Reynolds….. and round of golf Edgewater Jose Lagos… As a reminder this charity for Sanfilippo Foundation was started by one of our members Glen O’Neil, who’s daughter has it. And Reynolds, who is a new member, was very much aware of the charity …. his child goes to school with O’Neils son…. And he was very much aware of the tragedy and hardship the family has gone through because of this illness… and I really thank you all for your support. This foundation is not a main stream one and anything we can do goes a long way….. and Glen O’Neil thanks you too.

As I mentioned I think Edgewater is such a fine layout that the tour deserves to play it under HUMAN!!! Conditions so I am working to get them back on schedule later in year… will let you know
