First thanks to all who played and helped out with registration while I was gone, it went real smooth and I thank you all for helping out.
The reaction I got from most of you was praise for Columbia Country Club, and I agree. And rest assured I will work hard, so that we can play here next year. I think you all did well with the staff and we fit in well with their schedule and didn’t cause any problems. There is one thing I need to remind you of, and that’s pace of play, most of these private courses play rounds around 4 hrs, we had a little gap yesterday that caused us to get closer to 5 hrs. Helping with better pace, will make coming back to these clubs easier.
Now for the event, we had pretty good competition in about all flights. And we had our first place tie breakers on the golf course in fact there were 2 one for C Flt and one for D Flt. And I’m glad we played them, because that’s the true golfers way to decide a tie. And we had a strong contingent of players from our northern tour Charlotte, who played pretty well and squeaked by with some wins.
CHAMP FLT: this flight was all visiting tour members, ROB PHILLIPS CHARLOTTE AND ERNIE TIMMERMAN AUGUSTA, PHILLIPS was the winner by 2 strokes.
A FLIGHT: .A really tight race with top 3 places separated by 2 strokes. DON BRIDGES OF CHARLOTTE shot a 73 to edge out our JARED BEARD who had a 74. Also in this flight JAMES RAMSEY also Charlotte had an EAGLE on #12. What do they feed them in Charlotte?
B FLIGHT: Another tight race with JIMMIE CHAPMAN CHAR, shooting an 85 to edge out RUSSELL LAMOY col who had an 86.
C FLIGHT: We had our first on course playoff with RUSSELL JONES AND RANDY WOODWARD both tied for 1st with an 84, and RUSSELL JONES won in one hole playoff.
D FLIGHT: Another tie between TODD LEDFORD AND TOM HADDAD both shooting a 90, and TODD LEDFORD won this playoff.
