Another busy day for the COBBLESTONE PARK Golf course, where our Golf Week amateur tour showed up with 43 players, to fill up the already busy schedule. We got some mild weather, with the sun breaking through later in the day.

This was another good turnout, and we had 3 guests play and I hope they come back and join the tour, to enjoy good competitive golf with some of the best camaraderie on the tour.

Beside, all the nice talk, some serious golf was played….. How about 5 birdies from LAWRENCE WHITESIDE…. Which earned him $224 in skin money….. I think he said it would cover his car payment!!!! A first time win for MICHAEL THOMPSON IN B FLT and MIKE GRIGGS AND MARCUS DUDLEY got back to winners circle…. And the continued good play of future  C Flt player TODD LEDFORD, he won again in D Flt.

CHAMPIONSHIP FLIGHT… QUENTIN YARBOUROUGH had another solid round with a 3 over par 74 to win, with a birdie on #3.

A FLIGHT MIKE GRIGGS had an 82 to win the flight by 3 strokes with birdies on #4 & 14.

B FLIGHT MICHAEL THOMPSON comes away with his first win in one of our most competitive flights… THOMPSON had an 80 which included birdies on 14 & 18. One stroke back at 81 was LAWRENCE WHITESIDE, this include 5 birdies on 6,8,10,11 and 15…. Pretty good playing for Mr. Whiteside.

C FLIGHT MARCUS DUDLEY got back to the winners circle with an 85 for a 5 stroke win with a birdie on 16. In second place was JOHN FURR with a solid round of 90, and in 3^rd GARY COLLINS with a 91.

D FLIGHT TODD LEDFORD with an 84 continues his hot play and might get a promotion to C Flight. (lets see what the index is) In second place WILLIAM HINSON with an 88 and KELVIN BRIGGS..in only his 2^nd tournament finishes 3^rd with a 91.
