Wow what a great day we had at Chamberlyne. The weather was perfect and the course was in great shape. The greens were hard and fast which made for a tough day when it came to chipping and putting. As golfers we need to learn to adapt to the conditions that we are given so next time we can be prepared for whatever they throw at us. I promise the greens at Balboa will be more receptive than the ones we just played. I hope you all had a good time. Congratulations to all the winners.
Rodger Bates made his tour debut a winning one by firing a 5 over 78 to take 1st place in the Champ flight. Troy Robinson was only one shot back in 2nd with a 79. Great scores from 7000 yds on a tough course.
A flight honors went to 14 year old Jay Trusty who used his home course advantage to shoot 3 over 75. We had a tie at 79 between Kenny Pearce and Brandon Maple and for the 2nd time Kenny won the card of and finished in 2nd place. Brandon had to settle for 3rd.
B flight saw another 1st time player finish on top. Brent Lyons shot a nice round of 80 to take 1st with Rick Kidder in 2nd place with an 84.
Danny Smith captured his first event of the year in the C flight. Danny shot 90 with Kyle Malone only 1 shot back in 2nd with a 91. John Ross made his debut in 3rd with a 93.
D flight saw the two winners from Stone Links switch places. Eric Holowell took 1st place with a 90 and Gary Berry finished 1 back with 91 for a 2nd place finish.
