B Flight Winners - Randy Eastep (3rd), Brian Burnett (1st) and Cary Anderson (2nd)
First, we need to thank Charlie and his crew for a wonderful golf course and even better service. The course, one of the best in middle Tennessee was just incredible. The greens were perfect, and despite the bad weather on Saturday, we could not have asked for better course conditions. Thank you Greystone!
Our first Major of the season was a two day event that lived up to its expectation. We had some newcomers really show their stuff, and they did it on a tough course to beat. Additionally, some of the veterans did their thing as well.
In the D flight, Ray Wiggins and Ricky Chappell took 1st and 2nd respectively.
In the C flight, it was an incredible second round of five birdies that propelled Andy Raley to the victory circle with a two day score of 162. Newcomer Bryan Webb finished second and Steve Strawn a solid third.
In the B flight, Cary Anderson took second in a scorecard playoff with tour rookie Randy Eastep, and Brian Burnett put back-to back solid rounds of 80 and 77 for a first place total of 157.
Ronnie Raley, with his new move to the A flight, posted solid scores of 84-77 to defeat Adam Harris in a scorecard playoff for second place. The ever consistent Jerry Drewry took first place honors with rounds of 80 on both Saturday and Sunday!
And finally, in the Champ flight, tour rookie Gary Lowry shot back-to-back rounds of 76 for a total of 152 to take home the trophy. In second and third were Lance Strawn with 153 and John Perron with 155.
As a side note, Joe Smolira had a personal best of 6 birdies on Saturday, with 3 in a row at one point.
We want to thank everyone for joining us at Greystone for our first of four majors this year and look forward to seeing all of you in two weeks at Champions Run. Be sure to visit us at www.agtnashville.com to get registered for this tourney.
