Nashville, TN. (January 1, 2011) – Golfweek Amateur Tour of Nashville announces its schedule for the 2011 Golf Season. This will be the 6th season for the Tour in Nashville and it looks to be the best yet. We have 12 events planned this year, with a few "extras" thrown in as well.
March 26 - Montgomery Bell, Dickson, TN
Montgomery Bell will host our inaugural event this year. With their new greens and brand new clubhouse, this should be a great event to kick off the year. Maybe this year, the flood waters will stay away as 2010, with 65 golfers waiting to tee off, we had the worst floods Nashville had ever seen.
April 16 - Pine Creek, Mt. Juliet, TN
A staple for the tour and one that always produces low scores and drama for a playoff. We had a 3-way playoff last year as 3 players shot -1 in regulation play.
April 30 - Champions Run, Rockvale, TN
Get your target golf skills out for this course in 2011. Steve Graham and his crew always give us a great golf course to play. This is a course that helps prep players for Nationals with their Bermuda Greens.
May 21 & 22 - Greystone Golf Club, Dickson TN
This is a tour favorite and host site of our first major of the year. The course ended the 2010 season in phenomenal playing condition and should be better than ever in 2011. Remember, these events are double points, so be sure to register for this amazing event!
June 11 - Windtree Golf Club, Mt. Juliet, TN
We are teaming up with ESPN on this event as an optional tourney within our tourney. Two-man teams compete in this local qualifier for the best two-man team in the country. You can find details at www.espngolf.com . More details to come!
June 25 - Gaylord Springs, Nashville, TN
Maybe the rain will stay away this year. The flood waters have receded and the greens are looking great! The clubhouse has been remodeled and looks better than ever. This course always proves to be a real test, so be sure to bring your A-game!
July 16 – Saddle Creek, Lewisburg, TN
Cary Anderson shot the low round here last year with a 69, destroying the rest of his flight. This is a great course with opportunities galore to score. Be careful though, as number 10 can bite you!
July 30 & 31 – Cumberland Mountain, Crossville, TN
Our second major of the season and just when the weather starts to become a beast! No better time to be in the mountains on this amazing golf course! Be sure to book your lodging early!
August 13 - Old Fort, Murfreesboro, TN
A new course to the tour this year. This is one of the best courses around and the greens always seem to roll a bit faster here. Come to the Boro and test your skills as you will need every club in your bag for this course! This will also be the start of the Chase Cup. Similar to the FedEx Cup, gives players an opportunity to compete for additional prizes and trophy!
August 20 – Ryder Cup vs. Lexington, Dale Hollow Lake, KY
This will be THE BATTLE FOR THE BOURBON BARRELL, golf style! Players will have to qualify to make the Ryder Cup team. Invitees will be the top 2 players in each flight and then 5 additional Captain’s Picks. It will be a 27-hole event on Saturday and 18 on Sunday. This will be the best-of-the-best in each flight, and should be the start of a great rivalry! More details to come!
August 27 – The Legacy, Springfield, TN
We return for our 4th season at The Legacy. These undulating greens always prove to be tricky, and tend to bump the scores just a bit. Hopefully, we have missed the rainy season by going later in the schedule here, but bring your umbrella just in case, because it always seems to get us up there!
September 17 – Forrest Crossing, Franklin, TN
Todd and his crew should have the course ready for us once again. Can you clear the water on 18? We shall see!
October 1 & 2 – The Hermitage, Hermitage, TN
This is where we will conclude the regular season and the Chase Cup for 2011. Playing President’s Reserve on day 1 and General’s Retreat day 2, these 2 courses will bring all your skills together for the 2011 finisher. It never fails that the points leaders have a tight finish and 2011 will be no different.
We look forward to seeing everyone on tour in 2011. Be sure to register before February 15 for a great discount on membership. We welcome GolfWeek as our new title sponsor!
