egolf Amateur Tour Opens at Pine Creek

Mt. Juliet, TN - The egolf Amateur Tour of Nashville kicked off its 2008 season on Saturday, March 22 at Pine Creek Golf Course in Mount Juliet. 59 golfers in 5 different flight classifications teed it up to test their skills in the early spring event. Hole-outs and scorecard playoffs were the themes for this Saturday.
In the Championship flight, Scott Atkinson from Nashville posted a 77 and scored his 1st victory of the year. Runner-up Mark Jones from Goodlettsville carded a 78 which was highlighted by his hole-in-one on the 155 yard sixth hole and his hole-out from the fairway for eagle on the par 4 finishing hole. David White from Carthage placed 3rd finishing with a 79.
In the A flight, Adam Johnson from Nashville took home first place honors with an 81. Brad Suddarth (83) and Chris Kennedy (84) finished 2nd and 3rd.
In the B flight, Terence Harris from Nashville and Jonathan Chauncey from Springfield both shot 84 which forced a scorecard playoff where Terence prevailed. Ivan McCullough (87) from Ardmore took home 3rd place as a result of another scorecard playoff.
In the C flight, Andy Raley from Franklin and Dave Robert from Nashville finished at 89 with Andy coming on top in the scorecard playoff. Horace Spoon from Franklin posted a 95 to come in third.
In the D flight, first year tour members Armando Oropeza from Hendersonville and Stephen Rhein from Murfreesboro took home first and second, respectively. Michael Story from Brentwood came in third.
