The journey began with a minor stumble - an unfortunate bogey. However, Keith swiftly righted the ship with a splendid birdie on the formidable par 5 second hole. Fueled by his determination, he notched three steady pars, keeping the worst at bay and wrapping up the front nine with a solid 38. This front nine tally brought us to a thrilling crossroads, as Keith Bullock, Dave York, and Ryan Marchbanks found themselves in a gripping three-way tie.
As the back nine beckoned, Bullock's prowess persisted. Three more pars were etched onto his scorecard, a testament to his remarkable skill. Yet, it was the clutch birdie on the 18th hole that breathed new life into the competition, locking him once again in an engrossing duel with first year member, Dave York. Both athletes concluded their rounds with a commendable 79, setting the stage for a dramatic playoff to ascertain the ultimate victor.

B Flight Winner – Scott Nishimura
The golfing world held its breath as Scottie "Boom Boom" Nishimura shifted gears, leaving the C flight behind in a trail of dust during the initial part of the season. With an insatiable hunger for challenge, he boldly stepped up to the next echelon – the B flight. This marked his fourth foray into this more demanding category, a golden chance to showcase his prowess.
Amidst a shaky start that tested his resolve, Scottie found his groove and unleashed a display of dominance that left the B flight in awe. While the front nine unfurled, his club work transformed, yielding three crucial pars in the face of adversity. Yet, it was the masterful execution of clutch birdies on the 6th and 8th holes that truly set him apart, catapulting him into the lead with a front nine tally of 38. A three-stroke advantage was his at the turn.
The crucible of the back nine at the challenging Wolf Hollow course pushed the players to their limits. Once again, Scottie exhibited finesse, conjuring bogey saves and firing shots of impeccable precision. The formidable B flight gave chase, but their pursuit fell just short. C Flight Winner – Alan Oberholtzer
In a gripping display of grit and determination, second-year contender Alan O. refused to succumb to a rocky start in his round. Battling against the odds, he hit his stride on the fifth hole, unleashing a game-changing surge that left spectators in awe. As the front nine unfolded, Alan's mastery unfolded before our eyes, netting him four crucial pars and a single bogey, catapulting him back into contention. With a hard-fought 42, he made the turn, deadlocked with the tenacious Tom Pursley at the leaderboard's summit.
Pressing forward onto the back nine, Alan showcased a masterclass in his signature brand of golf – unwavering consistency and astute decision-making. Every swing was a testament to his prowess, each choice, proof of his strategic brilliance. The back nine bore witness to four more pars, accompanied by an unyielding trio of clutch bogey saves that kept his championship dreams alive.
As the dust settled and the battle reached its crescendo, it was the indomitable Alan Oberholtzer who emerged triumphant. With a mere two-stroke margin, he outmaneuvered C flight points leader Sean Bensinger, carding a rock-solid 86. This monumental feat marked Alan's second victory this year.

D Flight Winner – Greg Cobourn
Mr. Cobourn went out and had a day at the wonderful Wolf Hollow. Although the D flight was out playing well, GC came to play. From the outset, Greg's game exuded solidity and steadiness, the hallmarks of a true contender. Whether it was executing a textbook par or orchestrating a skillful bogey recovery, Greg navigated the course with finesse and determination. As the front nine unfolded, his prowess shone bright, culminating in a front-side score of 43. This commanding performance earned him a two-stroke lead over his rival Colin Dooley as they ventured to the back nine.
While Greg faced a couple of early backside bogeys, his resilience was second to none. Every setback was met with an exceptional bogey or even a crafty double bogey saves, showcasing his prowess in recovering from adversity. As the round intensified, the spotlight shifted to the second nine's climax, and it was none other than the seasoned veteran Greg Cobourn who seized the opportunity.
On the challenging 18th, a par 5 demanding nothing less than perfection, Greg stepped up with nerves of steel and executed the hole to perfection, making birdie. This allowed him to fend off Colin’s charge, securing victory with a two-stroke cushion.
For Greg, this victory marked his return to the winner's circle for the first time since his commanding performance in the two-day major at Far Oaks in the previous season.
