Thank you to everyone who came out to the season opener and braved the cold weather.  We weren't expecting it to get that cold but you members  were some troopers and got through it.  Cheers to you guys. A special thank you to all the members who traveled in for this event. We had golfers from Kansas, Milwaukee, Indiana and Chicago all join us. Thanks for making the trip.

Here are the highlights of our flight winners.

Champ Flight - AJ Porter

Let the cold games begin, New member AJ Porter started off well parring his first three holes before running into a couple of bogeys. Porter quickly got it back on track making another three pars in a row before dropping a birdie on 9 to finish his front with a 37 and a three stroke lead.  Onto 10 Porter put it on cruise control and went on to par holes 10-14 to start the back and then finished down the stretch with another three in a row on 16,17, and 18.  That gave AJ Porter a score of 36 on the back for a total of 73 to edge James Sullivan to win his first Golfweek AM event in his first try. Nice going AJ, heck of a performance in these conditions.

A Flight - Mike Camilleri

It was a tight competition out on the course today folks, and we were in for a treat. Joining the tour this year, Mike Camilleri had his sights set on victory in the highly competitive A flight. He got off to a bit of a rocky start with a bogey, but quickly regained his composure, parring the next two holes. He had a couple of bogeys after that, but then drained an impressive birdie on the sixth hole to really tighten up his game. Camilleri finished the front nine with a par on the ninth hole, putting him at the turn with a score of 40 and a two-stroke lead. Meanwhile, second-year player Tom Estopare was also looking to add another win to his career on the tour. He carded four pars on the front and had a couple of bogeys as well, but made the turn with a score of 42, just two strokes off the lead. On the back nine, Estopare continued to play well, parring four of the first six holes to inch closer to Camilleri. It was a great effort down the stretch. Estopare finished with a score of 41 on the back for a total score of 83. Camilleri also parred four of the first six holes on the back nine, and both players were battling it out as they approached the last three holes. Camilleri finished his back nine with a score of 42, giving him a total score of 82 and edging out Estopare by just one stroke! It was an exciting battle between these two players, and we can't wait to see them continue to compete throughout the year. Congratulations to Mike Camilleri on his first victory in his first try! Way to go, Mike!

B Flight - Kyle Bacon

Kyle Bacon and Jon Bossaller, both first-year members of the Golfweek Am Tour, teed off at The Falls Golf Club on a windy Saturday. Bacon got off to a rocky start with four consecutive bogeys, but soon found his stride and parred four of the next five holes to finish the front with a 41, holding a three-stroke lead. Bossaller, competing in the B flight, made three pars on the front and finished with a 44, just three strokes behind Bacon.

As they turned to the back nine, Bossaller battled to stay within reach of Bacon, but a triple bogey on 16 allowed Bacon to pull away for good. Bossaller finished with a 44 on the back for a total of 88, great showing at your first event, Jon. Bacon went on to dominate the competition, shooting a 37 on the back with seven pars for a round total of 78. This impressive performance earned him a promotion to the A flight. Congratulations, Kyle, on rising above the rest and performing exceptionally well in these tough weather conditions.

C Flight - Kevin Reed

Kevin Reed, a second-time participant on the Golfweek Tour, braced himself for the cold and windy conditions at The Falls Golf Club. Despite a couple of bogeys, Reed managed to stay competitive thanks to his impressive putting skills, which helped him secure a couple of pars on the front nine. At the turn, Reed was trailing the leader by just one stroke with a score of 48. Meanwhile, Scott Nishimura, the returning points champion, put up a good fight by making three pars, also adding a birdie on the second hole, finishing his front with a score of 47 tied for the lead.

A newcomer to the C flight, Adam Schneider, also made his presence felt with a solid effort, shooting a 47 on the front and a 46 on the back for a total of 93 and finishing in third place. Nice work in your first event, Adam.

As the players came down the back nine, Nishimura put together a couple of pars but fell short of the win, finishing with a score of 93 and winning some cheddar with his skins, super skins, and CTP. It was Kevin Reed who ultimately held off Nishimura and Schneider, finishing the back nine with a strong 43 and claiming his first win on the tour. Congrats, Kevin, your hard work has paid off! Can’t wait to see you all battle it out this year and build some friendly rivalries.

D Flight - Charlie Bieser

On Saturday, we had an exciting one in the D flight. Returning member Charlie Bieser kicked off the season with a missle right down central, that set the tone for the day.  Bieser carded some clutch bogey saves and a huge par on hole 6, the par 5. Charlie cruised into the clubhouse at 52, tied for the lead. Ryan Makurat, a first-year member, tried his hand at tournament golf on the Golfweek Am Tour. Despite the challenging conditions, Ryan managed to make a tough par on the second hole and remained in contention throughout the front nine, making the turn with a 52 also.

After nine holes, both players were tied at the top of the leaderboard. They continued to battle it out on the back nine, with Ryan scoring a couple of pars to keep it tied with a total score of 100. However, Charlie also played well, shooting a 48 on the back nine to tie with Ryan at 100. As the daylight was fading, a putt-off was arranged to determine the winner.

Ryan went first but fell a little short, and Charlie took his turn, putting it nicely near the pin, securing his fourth career victory on the tour. Congratulations to both players for their excellent efforts, and a big shoutout to Charlie for his triumphant return to the winner's circle.
